Essay Topics That Are Not Popular
Essay Topics That Are Not PopularStudents and instructors are often concerned with essay topics that are less mainstream and more difficult to be accepted by their respective faculties. But it is critical to ensure that students find the assignment of essays to be a rewarding experience and are ultimately excited about writing the essay to be presented in class. The faculty that select the students for their classes usually provide a good reason for this. Often they are able to judge the writing abilities of students who show potential for interesting subjects, yet have difficulties in expressing themselves through their own writing. The professor has no problem with the student expressing his or her opinion, but the point is to make sure that this is conveyed through a well researched paper that is both well written and well presented. In Cold Blood was a unique type of book to write. It is of course an exceptionally well researched story with an interesting plot and original characte rs, but the main problem with the book was the lack of clarity with which the author presented his ideas.I had completed the first twenty or so pages, when I realized that the title scene in the book could be described as psychological torture. The author could have put more thought into this scene, and the writing itself, but it still confused me. The writer could have handled this scene a little better, but nevertheless, the idea of writing this scene convinced me that he was not capable of writing compelling ideas in the subject matter that he chose.Throughout the rest of the book, I could not understand why he chose subjects that were in fact very different from the subject matter of the book itself. The first instance of a literary style that he used was when he took on the subject of murder. He wrote about the famous German serial killer, Hans-Peter Kretschmer, while completely disregarding the details of the crimes that he committed. There was some detail that was omitted in t he book, but I was more interested in learning about other unique elements of the character such as his friendship with Donald Sutherland.I do not believe that the intention behind choosing his subjects was to suggest that he had never done anything, but rather it was simply the artistry of the writer. This is why his idea of writing cold blood was truly the polar opposite of the actual practice of journalism. He wrote several essay topics that were generally in line with what he should have written, but that ultimately did not work. This in essence tells me that when a student is applying for his essay topics, he should take a look at the writer himself and try to determine if he has enough experience to be a suitable candidate.
